EDITORIAL

Editorial Note
This issue of the International Journal of Cinema focuses on the essays that have been especially selected from the first two volumes of the Conference AVANCA | CINEMA. These essays can be found in the last section of the journal, and are written in the languages in which they were originally published; thus, reinforcing our decision to make the IJC bilingual.
It must also be understood that the essays follow the formatting and style guidelines defined for the Conference, and each essay opens with a text from the author(s), whose objective is to update and comment on his/her previous research.
Our goal is to analyze cinema in such a way that it is engaging to academics as well as to cinephiles. In the first section of our journal, we have included interviews, film reviews and book reviews in order to more comprehensively represent both the creative and scientific aspects of our 7th Art---the cinema.
